Answer to the question will depend on the level of business and knowledge of the person in the field of accounting. As I am a qualified proffessional and if I start with a small business where accounting work is not much the I will do my accounting myself only, but for example if I dont have requsite knowledge of accounting then I will outsource as it will be cost effective for me instead of hiring an accountant. As a recomadation, it is advisable to gain some knowledge of accounting as it helps in accertaining the performance of the business. And if my business is of large scale and even I have the knowldge of accounting I will hire one or more accountants as per requirement for my business to timely complete the task.
