This question relates to contract law

Explain the difference between assignment and delegation.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

An assignment, under a contract, occurs when the original party to the contract transfers both the rights and duties of the contract to another party. Here the entire contract is assigned to the party. Example, if I give you a contract, I provide you the authority to do your duties to the contract and rights to ask for the fees of the contract.

The delegation, under a contract law, occurs when a party to the contract transfers the responsibility and authority for performing duties to another party, but the rights to contract are not transferred. Example, if a person who won the contract transfers the authority to perform duties to the contract to another party, then the responsibility of duty is transferred but not the right to claim fees to the contract.
