In this bible reference, the inventory was wheat that must be expended. Is there ever a reason in the case of a non-perishable product to not have too much inventory on hand?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Perishable goods are stored for long as it may be spoiled.

Non- Perishable products do not get spoiled that easily with time but that doesn't mean they can be stored in large quantity.

Too much inventory of products is not recommended as there is uncertainty in market, consumer demand pattern may change, new products innovation, as consumer may not be willing to pay for an older product when a new and updated product is available in the market.

So, it is too risky to maintain large quantity of even Non-Perishable products in hand especially in such a fast changing market environment as it can lead to high losses.
