General Theory of Crime or Self-control theory:

This is the best theory which describes why white collar crimes are being conducted. This theory was put forth by Travis Hirschi and Michael Gottfredson which associates these crimes with the behavioral aspect of a person. It was said by them in 1990 that these crimes are as a result of lack of self-control. It is due to improper parenting of a child which resulted in lack of self control leading to white collar crimes.
