Why would we want to keep all of our budgeting assumptions in one place when using a spreadsheet program?

Answer #1

When we are preparing any kind of budget, lots of assumptions are made to forecast the various possibilities of the budget. Each assumption or multiple assumptions are applied at various stages of budget preparation. The spread sheet program has the feature to store all the assumption in one place. Now if the user wants to apply any of the stored assumption at any stage of calculation, he can just inject the created assumption in the formula. In such case he does not have to create the assumption every time to apply it. Thus we want to keep all of our budgeting assumptions in one place when using a spreadsheet program.

When evaluating the results of the use of one of our one hypothesis tests we can use either the critical value method or the p-value method. While both methods will reach the same conclusion as to whether to reject or not reject our null hypothesis, most researchers prefer the p-value test. Why is this preferred over the critical value tests?
