Mrs. golez is selling calamansi fruits she was able to sell ½ of the crate and 3½kg on wednesday. On Thursday she sold ½of the remaining calamansi fruits from the crate and 7 ½kg. She sold 8 ¼ kg on friday. How many kilograms of calamsi fruits are there in the crate?

Answer is 20

Half kg of 20 kg = 10

Wednesday sold half of the crate ie 10kg , from this half kg she sold 3.5kg.

Therefore balance of fruit in that half of the crate is 10 -3.5 = 6.5kg

Thursday she sold from balance half of the crate (10kg) 7.5kg

Therefore balance fruit in that half of the crate = 10 - 7.5 = 2.5 kg

Friday she sold 81/4 kg(8.25kg)

Total balance fruit in the crate = 6.5 + 2.5 = 9kg

she sold on friday 8.25 kg from this balance 9kg fruit

Balanace fruit left after all sales is  9kg - 8.25kg= 0.75 kg

Total fruits in the crate = total fruit sold + balance fruit left

= (3.5+7.5+8.25) + 0.75

= 20
