I agree with His boss. As it is said well begun is half done, this phrase indicates the importance of plannning. Planning is deciding in advance as to what, when, where, how, by whom. This removes the uncertainty. At the same time planning helps in setting the standards tagainst which actual performance can be evaluated.
Planning is forseeing in future. Plan is based on past experience and expectation and estimates about future. The effectiveness of planning depends on the ability of the managers in estimating future events. This estimate is based on past performance and assessment of most likely future events.
So planning is not the waste of time rather it is essential for success not only in business but in every field of life.
