ANSWER: Sustainability can be considered as lean extended to a much wider objective. A company familiar with lean will easily grasp sustainability. Lean creates the right process for giving the right result; and sustainability ensures the ecosystem is in balance, and intervene in system only of required. Instead of focusing on the economic customer, sustainability focuses on three bottom lines namely people, profitability, and the planet. It focuses on the longer term; consider community, financials, people, and environment. Lean adds value by developing people as well as partners; similarly sustainability make investment in people- considers stockholders inclusive of staff and partners. Lean eliminate or minimize waste of any kind; and in similar manner sustainability create waste harms something else in the system
