First of all we should understand what is Material Master Record in SAP system. SAP is ERP system which connect all departments in a company for example manufacturing company.  

let us take example of one Material , what are the master record will be availabe in the SAP system.

example unit size of material, for example Kilo grams, pound etc. origin, quantity available in the stock, unit price etc. For Accounting department they use it for costing purpose, inventory updates for production and logistics team, the size and origin information for sourcing team, the quality check team, Research and development team (R&D) team use this information etc.
