The president of your company wants you to count merchandise inventory from the factory in preparation for a visit from stockholders. The president asks you to make the inventory a bit heavy by counting one row twice to cause the net income to show a higher number. What should you do?
The orders are orders. So I will get straight away to counting the inventory. But as I have the moral responsibility also and responsibility towards the onwers of the company ( i.e. the shareholders of company), I would deny doing any wrong.
I would politely and respectfully deny the counting of one row twice and request the senior to stop doing anything of that sort. If the matter still lingers I would fulfill my responsibility towards the real owners and inform the appropriate authority of such thing.
Kindly give a big fat thums up if you find the given answer useful.
