The most common SEC forms that companies must file include:

  • 10-K,
  • 10-Q, and
  • 8-K

Form 10-K is the summary of the financial statements in the form of annual report to be issued by the company. It is the most illustarious report and includes management discussions, analysis of financial condition and the details of all the annual financial statements.

Form 10-Q gives summary of financial position and activities quarter wise every quarter.

Form 8-K is in the form of notice or intimation of unscheduled events or corporate changes that could be of importance to various stakeholders like resignation of directors, acquisition, bankruptcy, disposal of assets and other important events.
