IFRS 9 - International Financial Reporting Standards are promulgated by the International Accounting Standards Board. IFRS 9 deals with 3 major topics 1. Financial instruments 2. Impairment of financial assets 3. Hedge Accounting 1. Financial Instruments - As per this, entity should apply two tests. first is contractual cash flow test and other one is business model assessment test. If the entity does not pass any of this test for a particular instrument, then it should be shown at fair market value in balance sheet.
