In regard to a hospital system: When creating a new payroll cost center for a pre-existing department, this would be a process that requires coordinating with the payroll and account department, correct? This would not be as simple as just adding a new cost center within the workforce management software, would it?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Yes, while adding a new payroll cost center you would need to coordinate with the payroll as well as the accounting department. The payroll department will guide you on what costs will be allocated to the new cost center and any special features which should be added in the management software. The accounts department can discuss the impliactions on the accounting for payroll and any coding which needs to be done to facilitate their work. If these inputs are not taken into account, many queries will raised after implementation.
