Meaning

It is that branch of statistics which describes the population under study.

It is a type of statistics, that which gives conclusions about the population based upon observation and sample analysis

What it does?

Make the data organized and easy to understand.

Predicts data and make conclusions

It explains the data, which is already known, to summarize sample.

It attempts to reach the conclusion to learn about the population, that extends beyond the data available.
