In United States, Security and Accountability for Every Port (S.A.F.E.) Act of 2006, was an Act of Congress that included port security and online gambling. On September 30, 2006, the conference report was passed by House and Senate, and on October 13, 2006, President Bush signed the Act into law. This act codified into law several programs for improving the security of ports in U.S. , such as additional needs for maritime facilities; global port assessments; port security grant program; container security initiative, establishing Interagency Operations Centers for port security and partnership on customs trade against terrorism
