Mr. Shahzaib, a Non-resident individual, was doing a job in a UCP as registrar in Pakistan with a taxable salary of Rs.100,000/-month. His taxable business income from Pakistan is Rs.500,000/- and Capital Gains Rs.100,000/. He is also doing business in UK from where he earned income of Rs.800,000/-. Tax deducted on registration of car was Rs.5,500/- and tax collected along with cell phone was Rs.5,000/- in Pakistan. Tax deducted on salary Rs.25,000/- . Calculate his tax payable / refundable?

A non-resident individual is taxed only on Pakistan-source income, including income received or deemed to be received in Pakistan or deemed to accrue or arise in Pakistan,therefore business income of 800000 from UK is not taxable in Pakistan.
