ethical situation :
This question is about two employees deciding wether or not to exaggerate the work completed to receive higher bonuses. They want to say that they did more work completed than they truly did and finish it next year.
The two employees in question are deciding wether or not to to lie about the percentage of work completed. If they exaggerated because "it is up to their judgment how much work was done," they would show a higher cost for the year. Intern this would grant them higher bonuses.
This would not become even because the closing statements of that year would bleed into the next year when the work is actually being done. Therefore on next years reports the profits would decrease.
they should not take this step. This would be taking more money from the company than needed. It would also show a lack of transparency to the stakeholders and investors to the company. They should either except the pay they are owed or try to complete more work before the year is over. This also could lead to the company being lower on funds and lead to being fired.
