Normal time wage [ 40 X 10 ] 400
Bonus = [ 1/2 X Time saved X Time rate ] = [ 1/2 X 8 X 10 ] 40
Total Earning = 440

Effective wage rate under Halsey Plan = Total earning / Time taken = 440 / 40 = RO 11

Calculation for total earning under Rowan Plan :

Normal time wage [ 40 X 10 ] 400
Bonus = [ {Time saved / Time allowed} X Time taken X Time rate ] = [ { 8 / 48 } X 40 X 10 66.67
