Answer #1

Yes, as an auditor i would inform the audit committee about an illegal act of a CFO where he is working as an illegal immigrant.

Reason- As per the auditing standards, the auditor should guarantee himself that the audit committee is sufficiently educated when practicable and preceding to the issuance of the auditor's report concerning illegal acts that come to the auditor’s attention. The auditor need not convey matters that are obviously irrelevant and may reach agreement in advance with the audit committee on the nature of such matters to be communicated. The communication should describe the act,the conditions of its event, and the impact on the financial statements. Senior management are allowed to provide any remedial actions communicated to the audit committee simultaneously.
