How to compare my Investopedia stock market returns with the s&p 500 returns at a $100 level when my portfolio is changing as I buy different stocks through a period of time? So basically I want to create a chart with 2 lines for each.
So let's say I have $10,000 to invest when trading starts on Monday and I make the following trades through the week. I buy $4000 of apple stock on one Monday, then $4000 of Delta airlines stock some other Tuesday, and $1000 of Facebook also on a Friday (so I have 1,000 to spare). When the trading "ends", how would you answer the above question?
I am not well versed in Excel so as much detail you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.

Tuesday | Delta Airlines Stock | $ 4000 | 8.9 | 10.04 | That is also good stock but less beneficial as compared with Apple Stock |
Friday | Face Book Stock | $ 1000 | 17.5 | 2463.2 | This is the best stock in the total portfolio we have as it has best IRR and Best S&P IRR |
