Does anybody know about the case involving Officer Crimm(the arresting officer at least) a Belleville, Illinois police officer who hit a victims head on the hood of a police cruiser and severely damaged the victims mouth causing thousands to him in medical expenses? I live in St.Clair county Illinois and I'm surprised I haven't heard this. There has been almost 14 police beating in belleville alone this year. I'm surprised I haven't read this one in the news. It seems as if the media is sweeping this under the carpet.

Even if I suffer from Insomnia? how many hours would one have to be awake to be considered "sleep-deprived"? After all, some people would feel tired after being awake for only 12 hours, and some who suffer from insomnia won't be after being awake for 24. How can a police officer prove that I am sleep-deprived and thus charge me with a DUI, and prove it in court? I'm a med-student, so getting a full night's sleep is rare as I often have to cram for exams, while at the same time driving to a hospital in a rural area with no bus systems in the early hours of the morning.

I know you need to be physically fit, but besides that, do you need to be able to run well to become a Police Officer? In other words, if you were physically fit but couldn't run that fast, would you not be allowed to become a Police Officer? Its just that, I really want to be a Police Officer but I'm not a very fast runner. In fact, I was one of the slowest in my class. I'm not really bad, I'm just not the best. Its probably because I don't have a very big arch in my foot.
Thank you.

My boyfriend has been considering becoming a police officer for some time now but unfortunately made some mistakes with the law in his past. He is fully committed to being an officer but is unsure how they will view his record, or if they will even take him at all. First off, can you become a police officer if you have a record? He has had two diversions for possession/paraphernalia, a reckless driving diversion, a DUI, and had two speeding tickets diverted. Now I know reading this it seems horrible, but keep in mind this was quite some time ago and he has changed since then. People grow over the years and I'm nervous that as soon as the police department look at his application they are only going to see whats on paper and not give him a chance. Does anyone have any information on this matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm considering become a police officer after high school. My concern is that I am a female and only 5 feet tall and a little under a 100 pounds. I know careers like firefighters require certain height and weight for the jobs. I feel that I could do this job well.
My main question: would there be a place on the force for someone my size?

I'm looking for insight from both the women on the force and men who work with/around female officers.
