Jeff's question got me to thinking of a conversation I had with a friend.
When a cop pulls me over, I always roll my window all the way down unless it's ridiculously frigid outside. But a friend of mine only does what the letter of state law calls for -- rolling down the window only a sliver to slide out the documents.
I guess I figure the sliver thing makes them suspicious that you're trying to hide your breath, but I also kind of like the idea of not waiving one of my rights (even if it's only the right to have my window up).

My five children whine too much for me to drag them through the mall and I heard you're not supposed to leave the windows all the way up because it can get hot. I'm worried that if I roll them down too far, someone might try to steal the car.
Or, should I leave the car running with the air conditioning on? Would that work?
I'm so confused, please help soon since I want to go and get my shopping done before dinner.
