Extraction of antivenom in snakes is a well established procedure - the snakes is made to bite an elastic glass lid and the venom gets squirted out into the flask.

If there is anitvenom available, how is it extracted?

If not what's how are people rescued from stings and bites of venomous animals like blue ringed octopuses, stone fishes, Inrukandji Jellyfish and so on

What do you like about them?

Why are some folk facinated with them ?

Ive heard folk say they are therapeautic?


I dont, I hate them, I think they are the most disgusting creatures ever made, they are pure evil , And if I ever saw a real venomous one like a Cobra or Mamba i would cake my load and run 6 miles away

i want to get a small,easy to look afer snake but what snake is the best. also what do you do to look after them

My ball pythons eye caps were stuck. so we took a cotton ball, wet it, and gently rubbed it off. It worked like a charm. But how do I know If I accidentally took off a piece of his eye?
It looks clear and smooth. But how would I know if I did take a piece off by accident?

BTW, He is an adult. So he did A LOT of jerking during the process.

Been asked to look after a neighbours corn snake while there on holiday any tips on looking after it eg feeding cleaning etc

I plan on getting a pet snake soon, although i'm never one to do things by half. I mean the bigger the better. So it would probably be a Burmese Python. The thing being is these beast can grow to anything from 10ft upwards.

So my problem being the biggest viv i could build would only be 7ft long, 3ft front to back. Now would it make a difference if i could make a very high viv, to possible compensate for the length of it.

I rarely ever dream about snakes. I used to when I was a child, but it has been decades since then. Last night I had two dreams about snakes.
The first dream I was talking to someone and a snake, whose head was held very high, half of his body was raised off the ground, came racing toward us, passed between us, and we could see a smaller animal, a horny toad, was chasing it. I woke up almost immediately.
I went back to sleep and in the second dream I was at this same person's house. The person had guests over and I decided to walk around. I tried to pass through a place but I saw a spiderweb and took a stick of some type to remove it. I thought some branches were also stuck, but it was a resting snake. The snake was sleeping peacefully, but I wanted to get rid of it, and when I picked it up with the stick it woke up and seemed to grow bigger and redder and more fierce. I tried to run to with it outiside, but it seemed to be coming after me. Finally, I hurled the stick into the

I'm in Queensland Australia and have a couple of small snakes round the property...aside from a mongoose, which are not native to Oz, how do I get rid of them???

Where did the that come from? They're not slimey at all. They have soft scales. So did someone see a snake and saw that the scales were shiny and it looked slimey in the light and hated him/her then made it up?

Or are they a myth?
