When Uncle dirtbag says he
thinks you look very pretty today
tell him Uncles do not talk
like that.
When your cousin says he'll show you
his, if you show him
yours
and he is
in high school
and you
are not,
tell him you think your father
might be interested in his query.
When scumbags
that are older than you
say things
that do not sound right,
stop
stare
and ask them
to repeat it.
Then watch
their face
as they say
the words
again.

Sometimes,
adults can be bad,
very bad,
Always be listening
always
be watching.

Always.

What do autistic.children/adults see?
Asked By +*+~<3Alyssa<3~+*+,Last Answer By SSA Registered Disabled PWD KI At 2011.03,1 Answers

I have many questions on this. It's just been bugging me ever since I knew my brother was autisitic.

Are their perspective on life different from ours?
Like what they feel, hear, and see?
What do they dream of?
What they see a simple portirat of a family or even a cartoon.
Does the simple sound of the rain bother them?
Do majority of autistic children grow out of it?
Will they remember if they do?
Last question.. Where did autisim come from? How did it begin.

Any help will do. Please and thank you.

Why do adults traveling without children go to Eurodisney?
Asked By Rillifane,Last Answer By insoupconne At 2011.03,1 Answers

I am fascinated by the number of questions in this section about Eurodisney that are asked by what appear to be adults traveling to Paris without children.

I can certainly understand people with kids taking them there but why would an adult, especially one traveling to Paris for the first time and from a great distance, waste the time and money to go to a theme park?

Few people have unlimited time on a vacation and for many people a trip to Paris is a once in a lifetime experience. So to go to Disneyland means choosing to see its attractions rather than those of Paris itself. That is, they choose to see Mickey Mouse rather than the Mona Lisa or the Magic Castle rather than Versailles.

Is it simple ignorance? Immaturity? The inability to distinguish the crass commercialism from the real? Something else?

What is your opinion?

How can I help a child who is being bullied? Answers from adults and children needed?
Asked By songbird,Last Answer By cissie s At 2009.12,1 Answers

I work in a school as a teaching assistant and one of the pupils I work with is being bullied and is very unhappy. I have spoken to everyone I possibly can to get something done, but what can I do that would help most? I am being supportive, I am reporting incidents, I am trying to make school a better place for this child. If you have any advice about what the best course of action is I'd really like to hear it. If you have been bullied and had help along the way, what helped you most? If you were in this situation what would you most want me to do?

What is the best way to bring up children so that they are happy, confident, good adults?
Asked By Smiley,Last Answer By Cassandra At 2010.01,1 Answers

I have a 2 year old daughter and having being smothered/over spoilt by a fab/well meaning but worrier of a Dad and having a Mum who was often down/indifferent/inaffectionate I am at the stage where I am beginning to worry how I should treat Em so that she doesn't grow up spoilt or depressed or with too high expectations in life/but at the same time with motivation to follow her aspirations etc..

The way my own parents were led my sister and I into being sometimes depressed/unhappy adults yet both did their best under difficult circumstances so I know they did not intend for things to turn out the way they did..

I too do the best for my wee girl but worry as I say how much is too much or what other things I could be doing to make sure or at least increase the chances that she will be happy/confident/depression free later?

Why are medications often dosed based on weight for children but not for adults?
Asked By EmilyRose,Last Answer By Anna K At 2010.10,1 Answers

I was looking at the information that came with my medication, and I noticed that the starting dose for children and adolescents under 70 kg is 0.5 mg/kg, or for children and adolescents over 70 kg, and for adults regardless of weight, it's 40 mg. But what about adults that are significantly under 70 kg? It seems to me that my response to medication would be a lot more similar to that of my 16-year-old sister, who's close to the same weight as I am, than, say, my dad who's well over twice my age and probably close to twice my weight. My doctor had me take only 18 mg (which still produced enough side effects that I stopped taking it after four days), but I'm curious as to why the recommended dosages for many medications seem to assume the response in adults won't be weight-dependent when it clearly will be.

Did adults who walk on their toes (with a bounce to their step) have speech delays as children?
Asked By sunopolous,Last Answer By Cicely At 2011.04,1 Answers

My 2 1/2 year old son has sensory integration (also referred to as autism), walks on his toes, has delayed speech, can't stand to get hands dirty, etc. My husband also walks on his toes or rather with a bounce to his step (I don't exactly know how to describe it, but its not on tip-toe) and had delayed speech as a child. So I'm wondering is there a connection with men who walk on their toes (for lack of a better way to describe it) and a speech delay as a child?

For adults (including young adults): What do you think of today's younger generation?
Asked By Hermit Cat,Last Answer By AnnaBanana At 2011.02,1 Answers

I am a young adult. Now, I see kids my age (I consider them kids because they don't seem to act like adults) being incredibly disrespectful to elders that have taught them what they know today. In some ways I feel like I belong in the generation before me, I'm ridiculed for respecting and helping people! Why do younger people think poorly of this?!

Was it like this back then, like before the 90's and 00's, or were kids just as disrespectful as they are today? I know there are some good kids out there, but it seems as the respectful ones have been trumped by society's new ways. Your opinion?

thanks to all answers.
