Do you ever feel like abandoning this theatre section because of . . . ?
Asked By The Snappy Miss Pippi Von Trap,Last Answer By helene At 2011.03,1 Answers

. . . the profoundly inane repetition with which questions get asked?

Questions like . . .

"How do I stop being nervous?"
"What song should I sing at auditions?"
"How do I get to be a Disney Channel star?"
"How do I become an actress?"
"Where do I go to audition to be a Hollywood star?"
"How do I get an agent?"
"How do I memorize a 3-minute monologue by tomorrow?"

It just seems like these same questions get repeated over and over and over and over. Why doesn't anyone do a smidgen of research before posting their question, to see if it just MIGHT have been asked 30 seconds before?

Oh, and don't even get me started on the Shakespeare questions that are obviously homework questions.

So, do you ever feel like going away from this section? I'm torn, because sometimes there are terrific questions and insightful answer, but they seem very "few and far between."

Londoners, are you a regular Theatre goer & which is your favourite Theatre...?
Asked By PANDORA Πανδώρα,Last Answer By blackgrumpycat At 2011.03,1 Answers

Tonight I went and saw Clifford Odets' The Country Girl (fabulous) at the
Apollo Theatre, and it's the Theatres that I would like to ask you about.

The beauty of our Theatres and Playhouses is second to none...they are spectacular!
Most are in 'Theatreland' and are of late Victorian/early Edwardian construction.
Do you agree that they are full of character, often featuring grand neo-classical
or Victorian facades with sumptuously detailed interior design and decoration

One of my favourites is the Fortune Theatre, home to The Woman in Black
for about twenty-one years now. Seating only about 432 bums, it first opened it's
doors in 1924,
This tiny intimate Theatre, with it's rickety stairs, spooky nooks & crannies, lends
itself perfectly to the current production, a ghost story with a great twist in the tail which all contribute to the wonderful ghostly atmosphere.

In what way could we make the parenting section feel more welcoming to those who don't perceive it that way?
Asked By desmeran,Last Answer By Bozz Mozz At 2010.08,1 Answers

there's a lot of talk of cliques and such on here. how can we make the parenting section feel warm and welcoming to newcomers without taking away from the friendships that do really form here (and hopefully will form for those newcomers, as well)?

this is not a "jump in and bash someone" question. i'm soliciting constructive and politely stated ideas about how to make this place seem more comfortable for everyone.

...What I mean is...I'm into astrology and Zodiacs and When I try talking about it to friends or family they either start laughing or they say its BS..Now Sometimes I do try to convince them but heck you can't always convince everyone.

When I come here I feel more connected with everyone, I feel we all share this great interest together and I love it.

Do any of you still have a psychic connection with them (if you're psychic)?Do you look back at our old "Group Picture" to remember them? Do you wonder if they died or are in the hospital? Or ..does it not bother you at all?

Why do Republicans seem hell-bent on abandoning poor people?
Asked By Lola,Last Answer By RatZ At 2011.04,1 Answers

Republicans are holding up agreement on Title 10 funding (Planned Parenthood only gets 25% of this funding). This funding allows the operation of low-income health clinics in the country, which does diabetes screening and other functions for the community, in addition to women's health.

There are numerous opportunities for the government to receive billions of dollars - as tax payments from huge, multi-billion dollar corporations that do not currently pay any taxes on their profits. For example, Citibank was given almost $500 billion during the bailouts, but they have not paid a dime in taxes for four years now. GE and Bank of America actually received tax REFUNDS this year.

Why is the GOP so eager to cut funds that directly benefit the poor, instead of simply enforcing the 35% corporate tax rate?
