It would be cheaper to stay at home and get drunk. I have never understood the mentality of people who go away and get bladdered every day of their holidays.

Isn't the World already over-populated with unwanted children as it is? Why do people go to foreign countries to adopt children there when there's children in their own country suffering? Why do people persist on having children of their own? Is it because their selfish and want it to have their physical features and look like them? Why can't they just adopt? There's even new born babies that need to be adopted! Why does it matter if you birthed them or not? Love is love. Wouldn't you love them the same if you birthed them or not!? Domt the men that want to "carry on the family name" realize that childbirth is not a picnic? Are all peoples motives selfish? Please explain this to me

WHY? People post questions to find answers from experts. Does not matter what the question is, or how foolish the question sounds to you. If you do not answer properly, then don't answer. But do not insult the asker by why they ask that, or it is so easy question how come you do not know, or get a life, or do not do your home work here etc. I think this ASK and ANSWER is a learning process for everybody. Perhaps you are smart in something what the asker is asking about, but do not forget that the asker perhaps smarter in something else that you do not know. Either you answer properly or you don't. But do not insult any question. That tells may be you know the answer, yet how illiterate you can be.

I know that other immigration was involved and that accents within the States vary widely not to mention other colonial intonations such as Australian and South African, which, however have maintained a more" British" pronunciation.
Was the British accent (which varies a lot in the British Isles itself)brought over to the States very different from today's
standard British? If not, where and when did spoken American
English sharply branch off from the mother tongue?
Thanks.

I was born in Canada and I was both raised in America and Canada due to my father's job. Legally, I'm American and Canadian but some "American" told me that I'm not American because I wasn't born there. Is that fair for him to say that? Do immigrants have the right to say that they are Americans despite how they were not born in America. What does that make me? Just a Canadian?
I love America and Canada equally; they are both my homes and having someone saying that me being born in Canada makes me less of an American. What do you think?

If you live in a poor country it is impossible to get a visa to live where you want... but if you are from a rich country you can travel whereever you want.
All the time Americans and Western Europeans move to poorer countries because it is cheaper for them..
But they complain when a Mexican wants to live and work in the USA to improve themselves.
Why it is not fair and double standards
