A good thing to do to pass the time is to try and feck with your co-workers. For example, back in the days when I worked 9 to 5, I amused myself thus:

I once took a greeting card of congratulations, and wrote the following inscription inside:

"I just wanted to be the first to share your joy. I know the look of a pregnant woman when I see it; so many people here have commented on your rapid weight gain and just think you're fat, but I can tell you have that happy glow that means the stork is on its way. Let me be the first to say congratulations and wish you the best.

P.S.- With as much as you're showing, it has to be a boy!

- Sharing your joy, your secret friend :)"

I then slipped it in her mailbox when everyone had left early to attend a creative brain-storm session the boss wanted to have. Another time I anonymously sent a co-worker a condolence flower bouquet, with a card expressing sympathy for her husband's affair, word of which was "all over town...if you haven't found out yet, I wanted it at least to come from a concerned friend....", as I wrote on the card.

Yes, I had my inspired moments.
