As a weightlifter, switching to a weight belt was one of the best decisions I made. It was really exciting to discover what exercises to use weight belt for. For squats, I recommend using a powerlifting belt as it gives you more stability as you move up and down. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and point your toes slightly outwards.

Lift a weight over your head as you normally would, using the weightlifting belt to add stability and strength to your core. Bend both knees carefully, keeping your back completely straight. You’ll find that this gives your entire body an incredible workout that’s hard to achieve without the aid of a weight belt. It will be easier to keep your back rigid during the descent if you opt for the powerlifting belt as I suggested.
