i have bought a Savylor Riviera and i was wondering if i could use it on Chesterfield canal near to where i live?

I don't see why you can't. As long there or no restricted areas. If it is they should be posted.

Now navigable for 31 miles from the River Trent at West Stockwith to the Norwood Tunnel at Kiveton Park. A further 5 mile isolated section is available for trailboats between Chesterfield and Staveley
Stay clear of the locks. Know the currents. They can be strong.
