I am using myself as an example but most of the people I knew who served with me in the Air Force I think felt as I do. I did not serve my country for the money or metals or recognition I served my country to serve my country. I am currently a teacher which I also feel is serving my country. Anyone who works to make our country better for all is serving our country. You don't have to pick up a weapon or walk a guard post to be doing your duty to your country you only need to be working to make things better. Serving other people helping those who need help and protecting those who need protection are all acts ot service. Patriots come in all flavors and colors but the one thing they all have in common I think is they all feel compelled to serve. So we are back to the original question what if any relationship is there between TRUE patriotism and populism?

I'm not alone in being willing to fight, and die, for the Constitution, and the Nation that has been built with that Constitution. I'm no "populist". I really don't like people all that well. I see no relationship at all between a populist and a patriot. Thank you for your service. It is appreciated.
