i have a 19 gallon tank and i was wondering how many fish i can keep in my tank if all the fish are the same size as platies and guppies ?

It depends, some fish do grow larger. I wouldn't recommend any cichlids, as they can become very large. I also would say no goldfish unless you only want one or two with no other fish.

I suggest 13-14 fish as well. Get some tetras, guppies, swordtails, mollies, or platies. Make sure you get at least three of each kind as they like to be together, most of them are schooling fish. You may want to get a pleco (algea eater), which I would count as two fish out of the number of fish I said you could have.
