I have a LeBistro Portion Control Feeder for my two cats. They like to stick their paws up into the bowl and push around on the flaps that hold the food so tiny bits of food fall into the bowl. They repeat this process all day long. We don't starve them, and give them what they should be eating according to the bag and what the doctor recommended. I've tried rigging the machine so they couldn't get to the flaps but food would dispense, but those attempts were unsuccessful. What can I do to get them to stop?

lol sounds like they are outsmarting you!!!!! They might just not like the bowls and you might have to switch to regular bowls. If you are feeding them the amount they are supposed to get according to the package AND what the vet says, there should be no need to worry about spending money on a special bowl for them. You can feed them in a tupperware container if you're giving them the right amount...otherwise you're just wasting money.

If you're worried about them eating too much or too fast still, or even trying to get them to shed a few pounds, here's a good trick: place a tennis ball in the middle of their bowl with the food around it. The cats have to eat slower to get the food out and they can't eat quite as much.
