Coke, UPS, Home Depot, Lowes and hundreds of other companies sponsor NASCAR. Why not AMA Pro Racing?

I think that the major problem with the sport getting the sponsorship it deserves is that the general public are not as interested in the sport as a whole. This is a problem that seems to be in every country and not just America.
Where I am if you talk to anyone outside of the racing scene they would not have a clue who the top riders are and sometimes it can be frustrating as these people are high profiles sportsmen and women but if they were playing golf to the level that they are racing bike even if they were in Nascar the public would know who they are.
Part of this problem is due to lack of publicity and media coverage, but then you get into a vicious circle where the companies such as you mention are looking for the best sponsorship that will give them the best overall P.R. for their brand and motorbike racing doesn't do that as well as some other high profile sports. So the big companies put their sponsorship to where they know they will be seen. But until more people are interested and the media take more of an interest the big companies will put there money where it is going to give them the best return.
