I bought a fireplace surround on e-bay recently which was described as "I think it is Walnut"...which I knew wouldnt be right so it didn't bother me as my home is modern but with recyled building materials incorporated throughout. Each piece has a life of its own... a story to tell.
Anyway I took one look at this fireplace surround when I picked it up and I recognised that the timber was "Oregon" or "Douglas Fir"... so the surround could have been 10 years old and made from recycled timber stock or you know.. nearly 100 years old and original... But it is here in Australia so it would have had to be imported from the USA in the 1920's.
My question is: Did 1920's bungalows use Oregon timber for Fireplace surrounds. The detail and styling is correct for period. What timber was commonly used?

here is the problem i took off the top part of the manifold to fix fuel leak now the idle speed motor quit working i have eliminated the possibilitys of vacume leaks or throttle plates i replaced the idle valve with thesame results if i manualy set the valve and leave it unpluged its ok but if i plug it in turn off the car the computer steps it up and wont shut itdown i think i must of broke a wire somewhere or could the tps be readig wrong to keep it up can i get a wiring diagram with a diagnostic flow chart any help appreacitaded
